We are looking for a Qualified Social Worker for the Assessment and Family Support Team in Colchester:
To undertake sec 47 enquires/ investigation. To undertake IA and Core Assessments undertake court work.
To carry and manage a caseload of services users.
To undertake LAC work i.e accommodating children, attending stat reviews.
Presenting cases at CP conferences.
Writing reports for court and conferences.
Visiting children inline with statutory requirements.
Have a working knowledge of current legislation and regulations.
Job Purpose: Under the general supervision of a senior practitioner or team manager, to deliver an effective social work service to a specific group of service users in Essex.
Knowledge of other children?s services and how they relate to Assessment and Family Support Services
A demonstrated commitment to the Department?s Policy on shared records and clients records
Evidence of sound assessment practice
Committed to quality social work practices
A commitment to anti-oppressive behaviour practice and management
A commitment to working on partnership with carers, children and their families
Willingness and ability to work in an open manner as part of a team with a commitment to sharing and working alongside staff in own and other organisations
A commitment to the child?s rights to have their wishes, feelings and views taken onto account and the right to participate in the social work process
Detailed understanding of the Children Act 1989
Knowledge and understanding of child development, relating theory and practice
Detailed understanding of the ?Working Together? document
DIPSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent
Relevant degree or equivalent
Post qualifying knowledge and experience of working in a Child Care Team
Evidence of direct work with children and their families knowledge and skills required onto practice
Good organisational skills
Additional Information: It is essential that you are able to drive and have a full driving licence or have access to a car and driver
